Unable to access Qlik Sense outside of office

Hello,

I had set up Qlik Sense Enterprise on a remote server and set up the proxy to use http instead of https. I am able to access them at work remotely and directly from the server

But when I access the hub or qmc from my home.. ( after logging into our VPN), I am unable to access both sites..

Is there some other settings I am missing?

Any guidance is much appreciated.

Regards

Simy

There can be a number of reason why. The simplest might be that your server might simply not be accessible trough the VPN. Bu my guess is that some ports are blocked trough the VPN. If you are using HTTP, make sure that ports 80 and 4248 are open (you can use telnet to test). If one of theese ports are closed, it wont work.

Hello Gustav,

Apologize for the delay...

There were some firewall issues and the Qlik site was blocked by our IT... That has been fixed...

and I am able to access the Qmc when I am in a VPN... But for some reason... when I try to access the hub.. I get a message that says " Error Occurred"  but no other details... If I click ok.. it just bubbles away...

Have you come across this situation?

Kind Regards

Hello.

If you can access the QMC, but not the Hub, its probably the Host Whitelist.

When you access the hub from home. I would guess that you use another hostname or perhaps the IP adress? Thats becuase you cannot use the servers own name over the internet.

In that case you need to add the adress you are using the procy host whitelist in the QMC.

For example.

If you use https://10.10.10.10/hub you need to add "10.10.10.10" to the list.

If you use https://qliksense.mycompany.com/hub you need to add "qliksense.mycompany.com"

Do add to the whitelist. Go to the QMC -> Virtual Proxies (the one you are using for external communication). Then check the "advanced" tab on the right and the add the value to the whitelist and press apply.

Hi Gaustav,

Please confirm that have to either remove existing IP address and add new one or by keeping existing one, need to add new one?

Thanks,
