Upgrade Feb 2021 failed due to Error 1603

Hi All,

Need some expert guidance.  I am trying to upgrade our QS from June 2020 to Feb 2021 but came across the following issues which resulted in installation failed.

MSI (s) (3C:14) [20:52:39:694]: Product: PostgreSQL -- Installation failed.

MSI (s) (3C:14) [20:52:39:695]: Windows Installer installed the product. Product Name: PostgreSQL. Product Version: 14.5.4. Product Language: 1033. Manufacturer: QlikTech International AB. Installation success or error status: 1603.

Any tips/idea?

Could you please share the complete install logs instead of the two line whch you have mentioned for us to better understand.

Also from which version are you upgrading?

Looks like a log file is not allowed as an attached file.

Hello @J8 

 

The max attachement size allowed is 76 mb. Share us just the Postgresql logs where the error is there is no need for complete install logs.

It could be possibly due to password validation. QS repository DB service super user password might be invalid during upgrade steps.

Hello @J8 ,

Thanks for posting.

Would it be possible to share the installation log only of the service that has failed during the installation process.

I suspect there could be more error rows apart from the one you added on the description that is quite meaningless to detect the root cause.
