Working with App Metadata Endpoint outside of Metadata Analyzer

Hello,

I am new to QlikSense and I am looking to leverage the api endpoint for a Data Governance use case. Is there any documentation or guide available on working with metadata api in a platform outside of Metadata Analyzer?

What are the authentication requirements etc.?
