Hello
I got a table for usernames and passwords residing in MySql database
can I use these usernames to let end users login to Qlik Sense dashboards? i.e. I need to assign these usernames tokens (licenses) and use them in section access
Please advise on how to do theis as Client is insisting on not using active directory users
Ali, I may have already answered this question in your other post, but from Qlik sense point of view you can create a UDC (user directory connector) to the database. When you setup your UDC you provide a User Directory name which essentially becomes your domain name. This domain name can be used in section access. You can then also use the same directory name to allocate tokens via a user access rule eg. ((user.userDirectory="udcname")).
Apologies if i have the requirement wrong.
so you mean that authentication will be against the database?
no need for these users to be available on machine or active directory?
please advise as I need to reply to a client
Sorry for late reply. No Qlik doesn't do authentication it always passes to a 3rd party to do it.
so that usernames of the users in the database should be the same as on the server machine where the Qlik Sense resides?
