where are the log files for qliksense?

I thought I had found the logs in the archived folder in qlik. I wanted to clean out the reload logs specifically since I have about 74K of them.  Can some one give me the correct path to cleaning up those files.

thanks

Instead of visiting C:\ProgramData\Qlik\Sense\Log

try first to write the following on your file explorer %ProgramData% and then go to Qlik\Sense\Log .

There are two places the Logs are stored on the server:

1. C:\ProgramData\Qlik\Sense\Log

2. C:\ProgramData\Qlik\Sense\Repository\Archived Logs

The drive (C:) is optional, of course, depends on your setup.

Theoretically, all logs could be removed and the system will start re-creatig them as soon as you will enable services back.

But I would recommend to proceed with caution while cleaning these folders...

There are other options (like "linking" these log folders to the folders on other drives, for example).

Vlad

This is what I am looking for to reduce. They go back to 11/05/15. Can’t find them.

What do you mean by "Can’t find them"? What do you have in the folders I've mentioned above?

I have reload logs that are dated 11/03/15. When I go through all the logs that are listed in the areas you sent me, the dates in there only go back to the first of the year.

Did my picture not come through? I have 78,866 reload logs and I wanted to clear the older ones out. I don’t care about reloads that old. Only current is necessary.

Sorry for delay in reply.

I've tested these folders on my server and I can see all logs for up to the minute ago.

Here is the example:

4/12/163:20PM0AAAAAAA_UserManagement_Repository.txt

Can you run "dir" command with /s option to see if your logs are located in some of the internal folders?

I can’t find anything. the only thing that is large anywhere is a 390_snapshot.dat and a 392_snapshot.dat. can’t open them and have no clue what they are except for transaction logs

What is in here: C:\ProgramData\Qlik\Sense\Log\Script

There are 4299 items dating back to the first of November.

Otherwise that is it that I can tell.

Can you run a "DIR *.* /S /OD" command from within this folder?

You should be able to see more recent files there...

You can delete all the log files, if necessary.

I would recommend to save them at some backup location first to make sure it did not affect your system.

You can delete them permanently after couple days..

Please note that your System Monitoring applications are using these logs, so you might miss the information for the months you will delete. Otherwise, deleting the log files should not make any impact on your system.

Vladimir
