How to use global and context variables in custom components ?

Hi, it's me again. How to use those variables

1 : in java code ?

There is no documentation for that.

2 : using the configuration UI ?

In the in-built components, we can write : context.var and we need to use " " for the string text area. In custom component, no need to use " " so when we write context.var, the system read it as if it was "context.var".

Is there a way to change that behavior ?
