Cognitive Engine, Chart Suggestions, Tips and Tricks - Qlik Sense April 2018

Hey guys - I know you will love this blog and video as much as I enjoyed making it; working with this really smart feature in the Qlik Sense April 2018 release. Here I will present a new feature made available in Qlik Sense April 2018, Chart Suggestions / Recommendations. If you have tried the Qlik Sense 2018 Technical Preview, then you have already got a glimpse of the power of the new Cognitive Engine. In my opinion the best part of this release are the new capabilities and future possibilities brought about by the new Cognitive Engine. Its main purpose is to streamline and enhance the analytics creation experience - taking you from data to insight in a matter of seconds / minutes. In short the Cognitive Engine leverages best practices, augmented intelligence and perhaps a little elf magic - along with your loaded data, to not only recommend data model associations BUT also suggests the best visualization for your data. All you need to do is drag and drop measures and dimensions either on to the design canvas or chart objects and the suggested visualization will display -  best depicting your data (no magic words required).  Allowing users to focus their efforts on gaining insight instead of building charts. Let me give you a quick demonstration.

Why when you held the shift key and dragged the ContactName, it created a table; while when you held the shift key and dragged the country, it created a list box?

Does it support the Spanish language? Should I better translate the name of the fields into English?

Hi Fei - at first - I was showing the comparison - I stated - "I am NOT going to hold the the SHIFT KEY" - Qlik Snippets - Cognitive Engine, Chart Suggestions, Tips and Tricks! - YouTube -  sorry if that did not come across clearly. I wanted to show quickly that if you grab a dimension and the engine determines that the data is best shown as a table - that it will create a table. Then I show HOLDING the SHIFT KEY with another dimension - which in this case was COUNTRY - holding shift will disable assistance for any item. Hope I cleared it up - thanks for your question.

Hi Mike,

Could you please clear one of my doubts. I am stuck with one question where I am not able to decide whether the Insight advisor is driven by Cognitive engine or qlik associative engine. 

Which two features/functions are enabled by the Qlik Associative Engine?
A. Smart search and mashups
B. Insight advisor and smart search
C. Insight advisor and data profiling
D. Smart search and data profiling

Could you please suggest the answer.
