Click on map to save latitude and longitude point into a variable for geoperations/geoanalytics plus

For GeoOperations and GeoAnalytics Plus Use, Enterprise On-Premise Windows and Cloud:

Goal: To Save the Latitude and Longitude from a point on top of the map.

Idea: To have a Right or Left Click Mouse Event on Native/Extension Map. User can select a new action, like "Save selected point", and Qlik save it into a variable (setted into Map Propeperties).

This Variable can be used also into  a input box like this screenshot (working app, but user must write manually the lat&long from google maps)

Great idea but there are some questions around it:

- on which layer the point will be created ? How to select one ?

- Just one point or we could add multiple points ?

Hi @pablolabbe

I´ll try to answer you cause these idea comes from my post at https://community.qlik.com/t5/Ideas/Click-on-map-to-save-latitude-and-longitude-point-into-a/idi-p/1...

1) Wich layer? How to Select one ?

My suggestion is GeoAnalytics create a special variable, i.e vCustomPoint, wich contains the LatLong points, delimited by ';'. These variable can be setted by each click, and the user can setup many Bubble Geo Layers as he want to display using a SubField funcion.

You can avoid use the SubField function using a vCustomPoint_XX, varying XX with the sequential id created. In my example, 4 points would be 4 variables.

2) One or multiplepoints?

I think if you use a special variable you could create many points that you wanna, but a good thing it limits them up to 5 or 10 points to avoid performance and other issues.

The benefit with these approach is that it can be combined it with many other Qlik features and objects and Geo layers, including SSE Geo at Cloud editions, as 3rd extensions and so more.
