KPI fixed size

Here a very simple issue.

Kpi objects, like all objects, resize according to screen size. But contrary to the other objects, the initial text size is not fixed.

it leads to that kind of horror :

Contrary to what you may think, the three kpis below have the same "small" size.

also mentioned here :

and here :

I also tried the new KPI extension which does not solve this frustrating issue.

Thanks for submitting, the request is under consideration.

Note that the charts fill up the space given, to force the size of the KPI limit the height and allow space for numbers if they are dynamic. The Multi KPI in the viz bundle works differently, it has fixed font size that might be useful.

Hello Patric,

Thanks for the news. Maybe the KPI needs a restyling like the other chart you worked on (bar chart, pie chart...)?

Best regards,

Simon

The KPI will get three options as of (most likely) during spring 2020

  • Fixed: Always the same size. Text truncated when not fitting...
  • Relative: Dependent on box size. Text truncated when not fitting...
  • Responsive: Dependent on box size and text length, text always fits (current behavior).

Thanks,

Patric

Hello @Patric_Nordstrom

First of all, thanks for the update, I appreciate. 🙂

If I follow you, on my example, I should choose "Relative", am I right?

Best regards,

Simon

Check out QS April 2020, in tech preview now: https://community.qlik.com/t5/Qlik-Sense-April-2020-Technical-Preview/bd-p/qlik-sense-april-2020-tp

KPI layout options: Fixed (text always the same size), Fluid (text adapts to box size but not text length) and Responsive (text resize to always fit, this is the current default setting). Probably is "Fluid" what you want.

Thanks,

Patric
