Qlik releases support for tracking Natural Language Usage in Insight Advisor

Application owners may be curious as to how users are interacting with Insight Advisor in their respectively owned applications. Qlik has built support for the public endpoint that will provide this level of visibility to owners but also foster a comprehensive user feedback loop between users and owners. This feature is meant to drive action, specifically around using these events to make marked improvements to the application, as well as drive usage and adoption.

 

What is it?

Qlik has released a public API on cloud, which will allow cloud owners to monitor natural language questions and IA interactions within their tenants.

Additionally - This will track feedback in the form of both ratings and comments from the application users that are tied to the recommendations they receive.

 

Who is it for?

Ultimately, the Application Owner is who will be seeing these events and be responsible for actioning on them. To view usage metrics and feedback for an app, you need the following:

  • Developer role in the tenant in which the app is located.

  • Audit administrator role in the tenant in which the app is located.

 

What additional value will this provide?

This solves for two items. One, it creates a feedback loop between the user and the owner. The absolute best way to drive adoption and improve usage is by ensuring the application can answer the types of questions being asked.

Second, it provides users the option to help guide that experience, by suggesting what they liked and what they disliked from using the application.

 

The connection can be made through a variety of API tools, an example has been provided where a rest connection exists within a QlikSense Application and corresponding sheets have been generated to shine a light on items of interest to the Application Owner. The Owner can point to concrete metrics and build a roadmap on how to improve the application.

Hello, 

Thank you for the app. I've been using insight advisor and insight advisor chat and this app will be very useful. I was wondering if you could share your connection. I'm not sure which insight advisor api you are using.

Hello @mgranillo - This API is for the Cloud offering. For Client Managed, I would enable logs to get these results and then feed it into an app for similar analysis.
