Hi,
I have configured a failover node and now I need to configure one node which will handle reloading tasks, My Questions is , Can I use the same Failover node as reloading node , If yes , how ? As reloading node need to set SLAVE and if I set it to SLAVE on central and on the time when my central node stop working , will it automatically set to MASTER and SLAVE which manage and reload the tasks ?
Vincenzo,
Rohit has created few more posts asking these questions:
1. What are benefits of storing repository db and application on separate servers in shared persistence
2. multi-node-with-shared-persistence-distributed-db-and-file-storage failover
I would appreciate your feedback here or there.
The main concern at this point is how to handle R and/or FS nodes failures in case if they are separated from Central Node... As you have mentioned, the CN will be dead as well and I am not sure what would be a best approach to recover from these failures. As far as I know, I would need some other tools to handle these nodes backup/restore since Qlik is not going to handle that. I was planning to setup 1 HOT / 1 COLD unit for each of these support nodes, but I need to configure a synchronization between them and worry about re-configuration if the HOT one fails....
Seems to be more challenging case to handle comparing to scenario when you have everything in one place and and your recovery / failover efforts are applied to the single server instead of 2 or 3 in the case above.
I would really appreciuate your thoughts about this case...
Best regards,
Vlad
Hi Vincenzo,
One Quick Question: Lets say I have one central node and One failover node, and my central node got down completely, after 10 minutes , Failover node takes charge and start severing applications, I wana know, when we make any node as failover node, Do it replicates apps and rest data to failover node from central node ??
when our failover node is charge which address in URL bar our client need to put, Central or failover ??
