Using custom connectors in Qlik DataTransfer
Hello everyone
Sorry if this is the wrong forum to ask this, but I didn't find one dedicated to the Qlik DataTransfer product.
My question is very simple: can we use custom connectors in Qlik DataTransfer?
By looking around in the installation folder I found this folder:
C:\Program Files\Qlik\DataTransfer\Connectors
I assumed I could copy my custom connectors here (like I do with Qlik Sense enterprise) and they would work, but apparently this is not the case.
Is there a way to make Qlik DataTransfer see custom connectors?

Hey @master_t ,
With QDT you can perform extractions using qvf files; once Qlik DataTransfer opens the qvf files, it tries to perform a reload of the script to generate the tables.
Personally I've never tried with custom connectors, but I believe it would worth a try:
- on your pc install the custom connector
- on your pc develop an application using Qlik Sense Desktop; the application needs to have all the data connections necessary to perform the reload
- on the server where you have installed Qlik DataTransfer, install the custom connector and copy the application developed with Qlik Sense Desktop
- configure Qlik DataTransfer to perform the reload of the application
Let me know if this helps,
Riccardo

Hi,
Qlik DataTransfer is a lightweight Windows application that lets you upload data from on-premises data sources to a Qlik Sense SaaS tenant without firewall tunnelling. Unfortunately, it does not allow to add the custom connector to add in it, because QDT is simply made to transfer the on-prem data to cloud saas environment.
But it does have the ability to add the SAP NetWeaver to Qlik Data transfer externally (https://help.qlik.com/en-US/cloud-services/Subsystems/Hub/Content/Sense_Hub/QlikDataTransfer/sap-qli....
I apologize but currently, the custom connector is not supported.
Regards,

So basically there is no way at all to use a custom connector with Qlik Cloud, is this correct? Quite a huge limitation in my opinion...

Thanks, I hadn't realized that when using a QVF input it was reloaded before upload. This should solve the issue, since I can use the full script and custom connectors.

Personally I find the help quite confusing about Qlik DataTransfer features... Anyway, you can read more at this page: Uploading on-premises data with Qlik DataTransfer - Qlik apps
Also, note that there are some limitations (see Uploading on-premises data with Qlik DataTransfer - Limitations ). Those are the main ones (that drive when you should choose a qvf or a qvw file)
