How to Distribute NPrinting Reports to Recipients Based on Specific User Data

This article describes how to distribute NPrinting reports to recipients based on specific user/filtered data. This method is faster report generation method in comparison with section access used to restrict/limit report data.

Environment

• Qlik NPrinting  All Supported Versions

Steps

• Find User Dimension: In your QS or QV app, find a user dimension like userID or useremail
• Create NPrinting recipients for each intended email recipient. Creating a new user manually in the NPrinting Web Console
• Create a separate NP filter for each NP recipient. Creating a static filter
• Add each user filter to each NP user/recipient. Setting user filters
• Create a publish task as per:
  • Distributing reports by email
  • Distributing reports to folders
• Configure SMTP Settings: Before executing the publish task, make sure to set up your SMTP settings on the NP server (outbound only. no settings for inbound). See Configuring SMTP server
