If the sorter file utilizes all allocated disk space, the Qlik Replicate services stop.
Possible root causes:
- The log level was switched to verbose for troubleshooting purposes and not reset afterwards.
- Maintenance activity on the source during the time when the sorter file grows; maintenance can cause an increase in transactions and will cause the sorter to grow.
- The target is busy; this also causes the sorter to grow.
- Long-running transactions.
Prevention:
Monitor disk usage and monitor it prior to hitting critical levels. Example: Do not set alerts at 95%, but alert at 80% or 90%.
Ensure that a process is in place which allocates additional disk space as soon as the alert is received. If no disk space can be allocated in time, stop the task which is consuming too much disk space at this time.
