You may encounter the following issue when trying to connect to Databricks using the Qlik Databricks connector from the ODBC connector package or via ODBC system DSN:

"Error message: Please check the values for Username‚ Password‚ Host and other properties. Description: General error

ERROR [HY000] [Qlik][ThriftExtension] (14) Unexpected response from server during a HTTP connection: Could not refill buffer."

Environment

  • Qlik Sense on premise all versions
  • Qlik Sense SAAS

Resolution

The issue can be solved by enabling SSL using System Trust Store:

or own certificate (especially for the SAAS version):

Cause

The cause of this behavior is that the data source requires SSL.

Thank you for this.  When I enable SSL, I receive a new error:

ERROR [HY000] [Qlik][ThriftExtension] (14) Unexpected response from server during a HTTP connection: SSL_read: Resource temporarily unavailable.

What might be the cause for this error?

Thanks for your time.

Hi @ca386807

Please open a Support case in order to get more clarity and provide the following details in the case:

1) Which version of Qlik are you using?

2) Has the connection ever worked before?

3) Please confirm if the connection works via ODBC System DSN using a Databricks ODBC driver?

4) Where is Databricks running? on Azure?

5) Please provide screenshots of the new error message.

6) How does your connector config look like? Please provide detailed screenshots.

Thank you
