We recently started using QS and are looking into the self service aspect of it.
The data manager seems something promising. A business user can add (prepared) data and perform basic transformations. But is it really that simple?
Can a contributor add data to the model? Within our company, a contributor sees the 'add data' button but can't click on it. It only works when you duplicate the app and only a developer can do this. Is there a setting so a contributor can add data?
But still, it doesn't seem to do some transformation that are essential to us, like a 'left keep'. Let's say I made a model with 1 million client numbers. The business user wants to add more information about those clients. So he chooses the 'add data' and loads the Client table. But this Client table has 10 million clients. With a left keep in the script we can easily limit the table to the 1 million clients. We don't want to join to avoid duplications in the facts table.
