Good Morning Community,
I want to delete a "Data Space", but when I press the delete Button, nothing happens.
The path is Dataintegration -> Projects. We dont have Talend, but I wanted to store QVDs within a data space.
What is the best practice to store QVDs within Qlik Cloud ? Shared, Managed or Data ?
Thanks for reply!
Hi @ManuelRühl,
Try delete the Space from the Administration > Spaces. Keep in mind that having content in the Space may block you from deleting the Space. Make sure it is empty.
Regarding best practices to store QVD files, this is a very good question and there is no right and wrong answer. You just need to define your patterns/conventions and follow them. Currently we are using Data Spaces to store QVD files and naming them according to the Database, Data Source or Line of Business plus if the data is for DEV, QA or PROD.

Mark Costa

Unfortunately I can't delete data spaces, even if they are empty. But it's ok.
I will use data spaces now to store QVDs.
Hi Manuel.
You are not alone with this issue. I'm in the exact same situation.
I wanted to show someone how to create a space, data space in this instance. I'm the owner, there are no resources, users or anything else in the space but I still can't delete it.
I just get an error "Failed to delete space". <facepalm>

Hello.
I have the same problem and I've reproduced it :
I've tried deco/reco, no effects
Hello everyone,
is there any solution to this topic? I have just created a data space but under administration > spaces > space konfiguration I am not able to delete the data space. I get the same error message as mentioned above.
Best regards,
Vanessa
Hello,
Another method for deleting a Space would be to use Qlik Automate. This video does a great job of detailing the steps: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VtjcgyMk6E4, so you may want to give this a try.
Thanks for the video - this works perfect for me at the moment! But I still wonder why it is not possible to delete an empty data space directly from the administration console. Seems like a bug...
