Hi,
We have QlikSense Enterprise on Windows version May 2025, the PostgreSQL bundle is version 14.
By security policy we need to move the version of PostgreSQL to version 17.
Somebody knows a procedure to do that?
Kind regards,
Gabriel.
hi @Gabriel_Araya if you install a PostgreSQL database separately, the Qlik Database service will run on the machine where the DB is located.
You can find instructions to set up this configuration here.
A standard installation is easier, but, in that case, you will need to work with PostgeSQL 14.17.
As far as I can see, Qlik Sense May 2025 does not support PostgreSQL 17.x, not even as a standalone database. See the System Requirements.
You can work with PostgreSQL databases up to version 16.x according to our documentation.
If one of the supported version is fine for you, please, follow this article.
As you can see in the article, you can have a relative control of the database version only if you choose a dedicated postgreSQL database.
In case you choose a bundle installation, Qlik Sense May 2025 includes PostgreSQL 14.17 in its installer and you will able to reach this release.
I hope this helps.
Thanks Andrea,
But I have a little doubt, if we to decided to move to a PostgreSQL 16 database, this component will be unbundled, so, we could have a service called PostgreSQL_16 o something similar, the Qlik Database Service should be delete, because the new service will do the functions of Qlik Database Service. I did many upgrades of PostgreSQL using QPI, so my experience using an unbundled version of PostgreSQL is limited, because the process to relate the Database with Qlik Sense is doing by the QPI. The article that you mentioned make reference to use bundled Database.
regards
Gabriel
