Qliksense and Postgres Upgrade

Hi All

Need your guidance here!!

As of now we are in Qliksense Feb2022 version and postgress is 9 version. Now i have to upgrade Qliksense as well as postgress. Below are my questions

1. Can we upgrade postgres from 9 to 14 version. If yes is there any technotes for this?

2. Currently postgres is installed with qliksense. Now we need to separate the postgres from Qliksense? Is there any technotes available?

Hi!
Yes, you can upgrade PostgreSQL from version 9.6 to 14.8. Qlik provides the Qlik PostgreSQL Installer (QPI) to facilitate this process. The QPI not only upgrades PostgreSQL but also decouples it from the Qlik Sense installation, allowing for independent maintenance.​
And yes, separating PostgreSQL from the Qlik Sense installation is advisable for better management and flexibility. This process involves configuring Qlik Sense to use a dedicated, standalone PostgreSQL instance, which can be hosted on a different server.​

Before proceeding, back up your Qlik Sense site, including databases, applications, and certificates.​
