QlikView Governance Dashboard

QlikView Governance Dashboard

  • QlikView Governance Dashboard is a comprehensive analysis tool that allows QlikView administrators to effectively manage the QlikView environment to gain a detailed understanding of its operation and performance. Optimize your company’s investment in QlikView and improve your productivity by streamlining tasks.
  • Analyze QlikView Server performance, task reload history, license utilization, and QlikView app metadata.
  • See a demo example of the Governance Dashboard HERE
    • v2.1.4 (Aug 7, 2019) Fixes blank [Node Name] (GOVDASH-191);  Handles QVW and QVD names including [ ] ' (GOVDASH-190); Updated Help links (GOVDASH-189)
    • v2.1.2 Sheet Usage in Sense Profile Score incorrect: only showing sheets used with AuditType=Document, AuditMessage=Open (The first sheet you open in a QV app). Fixes that issue (GOVDASH-188) -- June 21, 2019
    • v2.1.1 Addresses issue of not loading tasks for which the Tasks.xml has not been modified within the configured months of history (GOVDASH-185)
    • v2.1.0 Addition of "Sense Profile Score" (supersedes 2.0.5)
      • It is highly recommended to split logging files daily or at least monthly, especially before an upgrade to 12.30 or later.
      • NOTE: Audit logging must be enabled in QlikView Server in order for Sense Profile Scoring to work properly.
      • Compatibility: QlikView 12.40, QlikView 11.20 SR10 and later, QlikView 12.10, 12.20. Note that if you upgraded to QV 12.30 GA you must split log files as described above (due to change in column order in QlikView Server log files.

Thank you @rzenere_avvale for reporting the blank [Node Name] bug (GOVDASH-191) and for proposing a solution -- which worked! Kudos to you for version2.1.4 👍

Tyler,

We downloaded Governance Dashboard 2.1.4 and set the configuration the same as in 2.0.4.

When we reload we get:

Semantic error

The control statement is not correctly matched with its corresponding start statement

ENDSUB

As best as we can tell this error occurs when the script gets to sub FileScan

Any ideas?

Good afternoon @m_woolf ,

I would suggest to take a look at the variable f_cleanse_fname
It has been added in 2.1.3 and is used to remap some special characters.
However, it does it only to some characters, not all of them.
In my case, a qvw had ',' in it's name and that broke the functionality.

I suggest to start again from the 'clean' 2.1.4 and add the missing special characters (or rename the actual file, if possible)

I hope this helps,
Riccardo

@m_woolf  -- were you able to resolve your issue, given @rzenere_avvale 's suggestion?

No. As a test, I changed the "List of File Paths to Scan" to a single folder that had qvds with no special characters.

The same error occurred.

Good morning @m_woolf , when you changed the folder did you start from a fresh version of the application or from the previously configured one?
If you tried to debug the app, it's possible that some variables still have their last value (which, in case of paths with special characters, could be the issue)

Hope this helps,
Riccardo

Please refer to this support document for how to update the Governance Dashboard to fetch publisher data from SQL db instead of the default xml files.

Good evening Team,

I was looking for GD 2.1.4 on the download site but latest version available there is 2.1.2.
Since the latest update on GD 2.1.4 has been in 2019, shouldn't we able to find that version on the download site?

Many thanks,
Riccardo

This is the right place to find the latest version, though you are correct that the Download site should be updated to include it as well.  I will see if that can be done.

Thanks,

Tyler
