Qlik Sense Enterprise SaaS

Hi all!

What's you guys' assessment of Qlik Sense Enterprise SaaS?

We recently signed up for a trial at my company, and the dev experience is quite different from a regular QSE.

My initial reflections:

It seems like there's no server side extension capabilities?

Although I can upload widgets and regular client side extensions, I have no way of developing them (dev-hub is not available, and QS Desktop is not included as far as I can tell).

The way you work with data connections will have to change completely?

How has your workflow changed when moving over to the SaaS version?

Hi,

Yes there are some features which is not available in Qlik SaaS as it is, which we have in, on prem Qlik Sense enterprise. But definitely there is work around for it.

Few months back I wrote few blogs for the same. You can check that. Also, if there is any specific use case which you are not able to solve in Qlik SaaS which you are able to solve in you on-prem then we can connect separately for it to understand it together and find some solution on it.

It's true there is no Server Side Extensions in Qlk SaaS. It's been replaced by the "Advanced Analytics Connector" which provides similar capabilities but is not a one for one replacement.

however it has numerous advantages over on-prem, no more dealing with upgrades or hardware provisioning or capacity planning etc.!

Hello,

We switch to QSAAS for 3 years, and I would never go back, it's really better than the on prem version.

Time saved on version upgrades and other administraion tasks, weekly updates, automation, alerting, tabular, there are so many advantages to moving to the cloud.

Regards,
