This problem continues to occur in all versions of QlikSense. And now, when trying to upgrade to version 3.0
Try found workaround with silence instalation. But again faced with same problem
PREREQUISITE CHECK: Service user validation failed.
Did you try
Stop all Qlik Sense Services
Change All services to login using local client.
Before you start a Upgrade?
Yes, I try do this. Upgrade complite but QS serverIt does not work as expected
My workaround:
uninstall previous version but stay folder, certificate untoched.
install new version as localservice. not start Services after instalation. Change service user as you needed then start services.
Execute the installer as administrator, it will solve the issue.
I hit the "Service User Validation Failed" when installing with a client today. Surprisingly, we needed to log in as the service account to do the install and then it went through fine.
The Qlik help mentions elevating your Service Account for the install (e.g. giving RDP rights) and then knocking it back down again afterwards.
I spotted this in September 2017 IR. Hopefully this will be fixed in future versions.
Steve
Hi Steve,
can you point be to where it says this in the Help? I have hot the issue now going from June 2107 to Feb 2018 and I'm running this as the service account too!
Best regards
Andy
Hi Andy,
Kicking myself for not posting a link previously! No idea where I saw it, I'm afraid.
Are you using RDP onto the server as the service user, or just doing a run as whilst logged in as someone else?
Steve
Hi Steve,
Yep, tried RDP as the service account user and myself, but same result
annoying as this one SHOULD be pretty straight forward, after the horrendous one we did yeaterday!
Logged a call with Qlik, but no reply yet, currently considering changing the service account from AD to a local one, what do you think?
Andy
If you can't get upgraded then trying with a local admin account and then revoking some rights afterwards certainly sounds like a good idea.
