Export Qlik Sense Sheet to pdf with single click

IDEA: Create an new action in the native button object to print a sheet with default setting.

Use case:

Actually Qlik provides functionality to export a sheet to pdf through the app UI, but user need to follow a four step sequence :

- Click on Navigation Menu

- Click on Download Sheet as PDF Menu

- In the configuration menu set : paper size, orientation and scale

- Click on download button

The use of a simple button with all the setting already configured simplify the UX for operational users using a guided analytics app who need to take a copy of the sheet and send it to the printer or send it via email to someone else.

From a business user view this will be an excellent addition. Hoping this can turn in a new feature soon.

Hi Meghann,  my mistake but the misleading but I'm not seeing the "suggest an idea"  button. I'm a Luminary Alumni and I'm using my personal email account to log in the qlik community. This option will be available to those users with Luminary Alumni  status ?

Hi Pablo, this is the link: https://community.qlik.com/t5/forums/postpage/board-id/qlik-ideas/search-before-post-mode/true

If it does not work for you or shows as restricted, you will have to re-register with your company account and we can then merge your accounts so you gain the partner/customer status. You can either PM me, Sue Macaluso, or the support team to do this.

You will not lose your posts or current account but it will add your customer/partner status to the existing account. Please just sign up again with your company email and send it to one of us.

Hi Meghann,  I just posted the idea using my partner id.

https://community.qlik.com/t5/Suggest-an-Idea/Export-Qlik-Sense-Sheet-to-pdf-with-single-click/idi-p...

There is no need to merge the accounts for now.

Thank you for your suggestion.

This Ideation has been locked Easier Export functionality - Qlik Community - 1781122

The other listed on this page has been closed due to duplicate.

The use case for this has primarily been highlighted as being “easier for users”. Whilst that's important, I think there are 2 additional points that are MUCH more important.

1. Currently when you export to PDF it crops off the Green Filter bars at the top so you get a screenshot but no notion of what you are looking at. That's best fixed by building in a box at the top/bottom of the page with GetFieldSelections. But users don't necessarily want / need to see that all the time.

2. When you export to PDF you want it to look “corporate”. By that I mean, you don't want filters to be showing, you don't want it to look like a dashboard. An easy way to do that is to put stock images over your filters.

If it's a button that says “Print to PDF” then I can automate which sheets get printed, and I can use variables to hide filters and show stock photos to ensure we're on brand.
