Hi, I am using Qlik Enterprise.
I would like to apply for access to the QVD file to the administrator, but do all app users need to access the QVD file? Or is it good for developers only?
What I want to do is make QVDs created by one app readable by other apps.
Hi
If the user [ur team leader or anyone] plan to view the app alone without any development, if he / she has access for the Qlik App, then no need to give QVD folder permission.
However, if any one of the developer / user, plan to create the data model, then he / she must require QVD folder access or connection string access to fetch the data from the database.
Only Developers
Thank you so much.
Do you have any web pages about your answer?
Not currently, QVDs can be stored on one location at a connection can be created to that folder that way you can access QVDs created in different apps at one place.
HI
Its upto your company / ur team decision.
Generally, user will not see the "Scripting" part, because, it gets confuse them. And also, If they changed the existing logic, it impacts the remaining users.
In order to avoid those, it better give permission to developers alone.
HI, thank you so much.
The script is not visible to the user.
However, if the administrator give access to QVD files only to developers, will general users not be able to access QVD files? Or can general users use the app without needing access to the QVD files?
I would appreciate it if you could share any web pages that might be helpful.
General Users won't need QVD files as they will just access the App, they don't have rights to edit the app.
So, is it correct to assume that general users of the app can use the app without having access to the QVD files?
where do you find that out? If you have a web page that might be helpful, please share it.
General Users don't have access to Connection Type 'Folder' they do have access to other Data Connectors.
HI
Users can able to see the app with data without accessing the QVD.
No need to worry about tis.
