Qlik Sense 3.1. Map - can't recognize Danish cities

Hi,

We've upgraded to 3.1 and want to use the new map function. We have a server edition.

I've tried this in both desktop version and on our server.

Two questions:

1. It seems as QLik only recognize the country code - not cities - how can i make it work?

2. Can Qlik base the map on my own longitude and latitude codes?

Regards Christina

We have same issue in Finland's cities. We change country code from iso to name (DNK / DK -> Denmark) and then we have some kind of result. And second, I don't think this material that Sense is using is valid for cities of Northern countries. Let see some sample of Danish capitol (this is from file that Sense is using):

kopenage
kopenahagena
kopenahegena
kopenchage
kopengagen
kopenhaagen
kopenhag
kopenhaga
kòpenhaga
kopenhage
kopenhagen
kopenhagena
kopenhāgena
kopenhago
kopenkhagen

Did you find København in the list?

I am using desktop Sense... file are located:

C:\Users\"user"\AppData\Local\Programs\Qlik\Sense\DataPrepService\src\geo

You can search filename "cityAliases.qvd" and find where is it located on your computer or server.

yes, you can find København in the list (written with a b, not with a p)

But in you Excelfile, there are some prefixes:

København K
København N
København NV
København Ø
København S
København SV

in, the qvd only København. That is the reason you can't find the city and no coordinates.

But even if i have only two cities in my data set - eg. Roskilde and Farum - it still wont work.

Can't understand, because both cities are in the qvd

Try little more rows, I didn't get working when using ten or twenty rows ...but over hundred rows it seems to working. And remember over 75% of cities (in the file) have to be recognized to use auto geo mapping...

I've tried with over 300 rows - and only three cities all in the list - and it still won't work.

You mention that 75% of cities in the file (i guess you mean my data file) should match - are there other criterias? And where are the listed?

Thanks!
