Regarding QVF file Renaming issue

Hi, I have started working on one new App with Name Demozebra.qvf and shared it with the team. Later i want to use the one which it has been shared with the team is modified and i want to start working on it. Here I'm finding some issue i already have my app Demozebra.qvf in my apps location, when i downloaded and renamed the existing one Demozebra.qvf to Demozebra_updated.qvf.

Here when i opened the qliksense Desktop im able to see the same two names Demozebra.qvf and again Demozebra.qvf so when i click on the list view there I'm able to see the changed name in the filename: .

How to rename the app completed where i need to see

Demozebra.qvf

Demozebra_updated.qvf

Hi

Try to do below steps,

1) try to import your updated app (Demozebra_updated.qvf) via QMC

or it's already exists in your hub - work location then simply do 2nd step.

2) once it's imported it will be under your work load then try to publish it (refer below screen) and make sure tick "Replace existing app"

Devarasu, Thanks for the reply.

Actually, we are using some trail server version for a POC, it's expired. Now we are using only Qliksense Desktop.

Is there any option to rename apps with in the QlikSense Desktop.

Hi,

how you share your desktop app with other users?

rename your app in your desktop simply select your file and press "F2 Key" and rename it.

desktop app location

C:\Users\<user name >\Documents\Qlik\Sense\Apps

another way simply open u r app in desktop and click on edit icon and remane it

after remane (front  end it will keep alias but original name still remain in back end physical path)

Sure Devarasu,

But my Issue still not resolved.

I have renamed the app to RAMS but its showing the same old App Name where i'm able to see the rename name in the file path.

Hi you have to change the file name in both the places

1. in the default folder:   c:/documents/qlik/sense/apps

2. in the   below image clik on 3 dots and edit right side and change the name it will reflect otherwise it will not

have your close your qliksense desktop and re-opened again?  then it should work actually.

do simple steps,

close your qliksense  desktop go to your app file physical path, then rename it

and try to open qliksense desktop then it show updated name.

In the QS desktop when you click on Edit button you can edit the application Name as Demozebra_updated.qvf(Marked Red color arrow).

correct me if i misunderstand your requirement.
