Chart Exploration does not work on straight tables with Qlik Sense May 2023 Patch 3

The Chart Exploration panel is not shown in straight tables after the upgrade to Qlik Sense May 2023 Patch 3. The option is still visible when you right click on the table, but it does not work: the table is just enlarged or an empty window appears instead of the Chart Exploration.

Environment

  • Qlik Sense May 2023 Patch 3
  • Qlik Sense May 2023 Patch 4
  • Qlik Sense May 2023 Patch 5

Resolution

The problem is not present in any Qlik Sense releases previous to May 2023 Patch 3. It is fixed in Qlik Sense May 2023 Patch 6 and higher releases. The Qlik Sense August release was not affected.

In releases prior to May Patch 6, it is possible to resolve the problem on the affected releases by following these steps:

  1.  Connect to Qlik Sense.
  2.  Open the 'import-map.json' file located in C:\Program Files\Qlik\Sense\Client\qmfe with a text editor.
  3.  Remove the two dots ('..') that you can see at the beginning of each path. For example, the row
    @qlik-trial/qmfe-api    "../resources/qmfe/qmfe-api/2.58.0/qmfe-api.js"
    must look like this:
    @qlik-trial/qmfe-api    "/resources/qmfe/qmfe-api/2.58.0/qmfe-api.js"
  4.  Save the 'import-map.json' file.
  5.  Clear your browser cache.
  6. Restart the Qlik Sense services if possible.

Cause

An incorrect formatting of the paths in the 'import-map.json' file causes the problem.

Is it true the BUG is still alive?

Can confirm that Patch 5 did not solve this bug. Exploration Panel is still missing

Is this bug isolated to the new visualization bundle straight table Straight table | Qlik Sense on Windows Help ?,

Or does it affect the "classic" straight table?

@qliktime As the original table does not have an Exploration Panel, this bug only applies to the new object, presumably.

Just installed Patch 5 that was supposed to fix the issue. However this only made it worse. All the .js files in the qmfe folder were gone causing the exploration panel not to load. Only after copying all qmfe files from an older patch could I get the chart exploration to work again.

How can this be marked as a resolved defect?

@Andrea_Bertazzo Do we know when this will be fixed? SR 5 did not work.

@Sonja_Bauernfeind Thanks for the update. If possible, can the support article be updated to reflect the fact that (at least as of SR5) the suggested workaround is not valid due to the file in question not actually existing in the installation?
