The Qlik Sense PostgreSQL database was previously updated and unbundled using the Qlik PostgreSQL Installer (QPI).

Following an upgrade of Qlik Sense Enterprise on Windows, the Qlik Repository Service may not start or the Management Console open to the following error:

Failed to load properties. No data found.

failed to load property no data found.png

Environment

Qlik Sense on Windows May 2023 (upgraded to)
Previous use of Qlik PostgreSQL Installer (QPI) while Qlik Sense had a patch installed

Resolution:

Repair the installation. See Repairing an installation.

Cause

Previously to using QPI, all patches need to be removed. See Requirements for QPI.

Just to confirm, should this be done before an update or after an update when the message is received?

Hello @WMLouis

As a requirement for the upgrade and unbundle with the Qlik Postgres Installer, patches must be removed (see the instructions in Requirements for QPI) before you run the upgrade. If this was not done, and you receive the error, a Repair can be done to resolve the issue.

If this also does not resolve the issue, you would need to revert to the backup you have taken before the upgrade, then uninstall the patches, and perform the upgrade again.

All the best,
Sonja

Guys, this will give information for everyone. I have been seeing this mostly everytime. Most of the case, it will get avoid if you do as below.

  • Remove any current Qlik Sense patches
  • Go to Programs & Features in Control Panel and use the "Change" option over Qlik Sense installation
  • Choose "Repair"
  • Reboot
  • Clean browser cache
  • Confirm issue is resolved
  • Apply patch 1
  • Check issue again. Is it back? If not...
  • Apply Patch 2
  • Check issue again. Is it back?
