This article gives an overview of how to configure custom activities using the Marketo connector in Qlik Application Automation. It will also go over an example of configuring and using a custom activity.
Standard use case:
Custom activities help you track an activity that isn’t related to a Marketo form, email, or landing page. Want to track when someone deposits a check? Want to keep tabs on when someone attends a webinar? Use a custom activity.
Example on how to configure and use a custom activity:
- From the left menu, select the Marketo connector;
- Use the 'Search for blocks' input to search for the 'Create Custom Activity Type' block;

- Drag and drop the block into the automation and link it to the start block;

- On the right side of the screen, use the input fields to fill in the custom activity information;
- Optional step: use the 'Search for blocks' input to search for the 'Add attribute to custom activity type' block and link it to the 'Create Custom Activity Type' block;

- On the right side of the screen, use the input fields to fill in the attribute information; You can add multiple attributes by duplicating this block and link it to the previous one.

- Use the 'Search for blocks' input to search for the 'Approve Custom Activity Type' block and link it to the last 'Add attribute to custom activity type' block;

- On the right side of the screen, use the input fields to fill in the custom activity information;
- Run the automation (if not saved previously, a 'Save automation' popup will appear). This will create a new custom activity type in your Marketo account, optionally add custom attributes to it and then publishes it for use.
Example on how to use a custom activity:
- From the left menu, select the Marketo connector;
- Use the 'Search for blocks' input to search for the 'Add Lead Activity' block;
- Drag and drop the block into the automation and link it to the start block;

- On the right side of the screen, use the input fields to fill in the lead activity information;

- Run the automation (if not saved previously, a 'Save automation' popup will appear). This will add a new activity for the selected lead in Marketo.
