Qlik Sense Desktop: The engine could not be unlocked. Please try again later.

Launching the Qlik Sense Desktop fails with error "The Engine could not be unlocked. Please try again later."
The Sense Engine crashes and the Windows Event Viewer may show numerous failures related to engine.exe.
 

Environment:

Qlik Sense Desktop February 2018 and up
Windows 10
 

Resolution:

Repair the installation

From the Windows Installed Programs menu, select the Qlik Sense Desktop and choose Repair. 

Is OneDrive enabled?

To exclude this, please try to do a custom installation of the software and change install path from C:\Users\(Username)\OneDrive\Documents\Qlik to C:\Users\(Username)\Documents\Qlik
Another option would be to exclude the Qlik Folder from OneDrive synchronization.

Reinstall in case of a corrupt installation

A repair or reinstall may be necessary to resolve problems with corrupted components.

This solution does not work for me. I have downloaded and installed again in different directory but does not work. I have One Drive on my machine. Isthere anyother solution?
