Delete automations template

An automation template cannot be modified by any other users than the user who created that template. If that user leaves the company, it is not possible to delete or modify that template.

I think that an admin within the qlik tenant should be able to either remove or reassign the automation template. It is not very good if an template can not be touched because that user is not at the company anymore.

I do also think there should be an appropriate governance so when an user is not at the company anymore, and the profile is disabled in Qlik, what happens with all the apps, spaces and etc. for that user? And who can control those apps afterwards.

Hi @christofferkristensen

Yes, that is correct, only the automation owner can make the edits and this is by design. You can change the automation owner and adjust the block settings to get the automation up and running.

Areas that are particularly sensitive when you delete a user:

  • All private content on published apps. These will be lost. There is not an API method to transfer ownership
  • All data connections with credentials. These will all need to have their credentials updated once the data connection ownership is transferred

So you need to publish the private contents of the users before deleting them because they are lost forever. You can change the owner of the app which belongs to the deleted user but the app will only have public content.
