Hi experts
I am on November 2017 version and it is my first time creating a Nprinting on cloud. (qlik sense) Qlik sense is the April 2018.
I created an app and then a connection. when I "run verification", the connection status was successful, the cache status was error. when i reload metadata, the connection status becomes failed and the cache status is error.
Other connections are fine and i reloaded some of them, they can be regenerated.
I am not able to see the admin tab though. Do I not have enough access to do it?
thanks!
Hi,
1 - Be sure that you meet all the requirements to create a Qlik Sense connection https://help.qlik.com/en-US/nprinting/November2018/Content/NPrinting/GettingStarted/HowCreateConnect...
2 - Check the Qlik NPrinting logs and the Task Executions page to read specific error messages

Ruggero

Hi Ruggero
Thanks for your reply.
I have a follow-up question,in the help section, it mentioned that
The Qlik NPrinting user creating the connection must have:
A domain user account that is a member of the same domain as the Qlik NPrinting server and the Qlik Senseserver.
The Qlik Nprinting user (me) and identity (an account that can talk to qlik engine when setup the connections) are two different things I assume? in this context, I must have the RootAdmin role?
thank you!
Hi,
The Qlik NPrinting user (the one you use to log into Qlik NPrinting), the user who runs the Windows services and the user in the connection are 3 different users (or could be 3 different, you can insert your domain user in the connection for example).
The user who log into Qlik NPrinting doesn't need to be RootAdmin in Qlik Sense because when you edit a template the Designer uses the data in the cache.
Best Regards,
Ruggero

of the two users mentioned:the user who runs the Windows services and the user in the connection
How do you identify them in NPrinting?
Who is the user in "Identity " box when creating connection?
I am sure the uses runs windows services is root admin as there were some connection created already.
Hi,
One is the Windows user that you insert during the installation and that you can see when you open the Windows Service panel in the server. The other is the user that you insert when you create the connection.

"The other is the user that you insert when you create the connection."
I am sorry when you said insert, where do you insert? is that the" identity" I post the screen shot in my previous post?
Hi,
Yes, of course. It is the only field in the connection form where you insert a user.
Best Regards,
Ruggero
