Hello,
We install nPrinting 17.2 on a QlikView Server and connect it to a Qlik Sense 3.1 Server. We want to import Users using the example file (Users, Filters and Groups). We have more than 100 users so we do not want to do it manually.
The target is to send report by mail and to put reports in a specific folder (using a ftp). We notice that we have fields in the user part (for folder and Sub-Folder) but unfortunatly we cannot find this information in the excel file. The online help tell us to do no modifications of the Excel structure.
Is there a way to import folder and sub-folder using a file ?
Thks for your support,
Stephane.
Hi Stéphane,
You can't make changes to the Excel file so unfortunately there is no way to import Folders/Sub-folders currently. Also, NPrinting 17.x does not yet support FTP.

Hi Daniel,
Thank you for your answer. We are working on a POC for a customer. Do you know if these features will be available soon ?
Thanks,
Stephane.

Hi Stéphane,
I have almost 100 users , it is hard to create individual user.
As you cannot import all the users you can create a Distribution list in your outlook (or any mail you use) and cc the group (DL) in email message from your tasks. so your email is sent to all the users including the selected users.
can be used if you don't use filters user level.
Hi Sujit,
The thumb rule is the yourself and admin user for the Nprinting should be able to access (able to open) the documents (QVW's) you are using in nprinting.
To check login the nprinting server as admin and try to open the QVW.
- If the dashboard has section access, the nprinting admin user should be in the section access list as admin and you can be user I guess
- make sure the connection string is correct.
- If your dashboard has macros, allow macros to nprinting admin user
thanks- sravan
I have created a PowerShell script for this, which might be able to help you.
It imports the users automatically from the AD and outputs them to an Excel file, which then Nprinting can import:
@Daniel - Any updates from Product Team on "way to import Folders/Sub-folders" during User import ?
