Error Qlik NPrinting on demand with Qlik View

Hi I'm facing the below error while connecting the QlikView with Qlik NPrinting.

Error message: "No connection with NPrinting server. Please check your network settings or contact the administrator." when I click On-Demand in the QlikView Access Point

As per document, I done this "Log into the Qlik NPrinting Web Console using the Qlik NPrinting services Window domain user and accept the certificate."

Still facing issue. Any other things need to perform ?

Hi All, Issue was resolved. It occurs due to cookies. So I navigate to browser tool and copied the respective url links and paste in another window tab and then just accept.

Once done I tried to create report then its working fine.  For one time need to accept the cookies.

@Frank_S @Lech_Miszkiewicz @David_Friend @Lucas_Gatling  Thanks all.

@balajibc64  I would suggest reviewing this KB article: https://community.qlik.com/t5/Official-Support-Articles/Troubleshooting-QlikView-On-Demand-with-NPri...

This will help you troubleshoot your On-Demand installation.

@balajibc64 also what version is your QlikView on?  Has this worked before or is this your first time trying to make it work?

Issue is something related to certificate. Something like CER and PFX file to generate the license.  When I opened command prompt OPENSSL is not working.  Not sure how to handle this.

Also, cant clear this statement "

  • Log into NPrinting first with Windows Authentication to start an NTLM session (NPrinting security: email address and password will not work) ."

What do you mean you cannot clear statement about logging in with Windows Authentication?

It means that you open NPrinting admin console and login using the blue button. For this to work you need to have your user properly created in NPrinting and Domain User must be populated on your user profile in NPrinting. That step creates nprinting session which then can be re-used by OnDemand.

@balajibc64

Let me try to simplify what you need to do.

1. ensure that you have set up trusted origin for the QlikView Accesspoint in the NP web console. For example https://qlikserver2.domain.com (notice this is FQDN)

2. ensure that when logging into the NP web console than you use the FQDN. For example https://qlikserver3.domain.com

3. Ensure that the NP service engine/server domain account is a member of the local administrators group on the NP server/engine computer.

4. Ensure that the NP service engine/server domain account is a member of the NPrinting Security Role 'Administrator'.

5. Ensure that your NPrinting connections for On Demand reporting are QVP server connections. (local connections will not work with On-Demand).

6 Have you manually created the QlikView Management API group and the QlikView Administrators group on the QlikView Server.

The Qlik NPrinting services Windows domain user must be a member of two groups on the QlikView Server (as well as the AccessPoint server, if installed on a separate computer):

  • QlikView Administrators
  • QlikView Management API

7. Ensure that the NPrinting 'User' security role has On Demand 'Create' permission 'enabled'

If you have not performed one or more of these, you will continue to experience the error that you are seeing.

These points are further elaborated in the article I shared earlier.

A secured NP server (valid cert and key) is not required to enable NPrinting On Demand reporting.

Here it is again for your convenience.

We very much want to see you succeed with your On-Demand deployment. However, it is essential that you follow the points above carefully and thoroughly.

Kind regards...
