Discussion Board for collaboration on Qlik NPrinting.
Hi everyone
The NPrinting Server stores report metadata in its Postgres DB. The cache files are descriptions of the document or app, and the fields value are stored instead inside the Postgres DB up to 1000 rows.
Because of this sensible user data the client needs to install the NPrinting Server in a highly restricted network security layer.
Now it comes: In order to use the On-Demand feature or the NewsStands where the user actually triggers a task, the web service is not accessible because of the nsl.
Can I install the Nprinting Postgres DB separatedly in another node like in Qlik Sense?
Is there like a debug mode or a paramenter in the initfile that enables this step?
@Ruggero_Piccoli @Lech_Miszkiewicz Did you have any ideas?
Kind regards
Hatus
Hi,
At the moment (November 2019) you cannot install the Qlik NPrinting Repository in a different node. The same for the NewsStand. The Qlik NPrinting Server setup install all those components in a single computer and you cannot split them, also manually.
You could evaluate the use of a reverse proxy between the Qlik NPrinting NewsStand and the users so they will not connect directly to the server. Or you can distribute reports via email or to folders.
Best Regards,
Ruggero
