NP 17 displays hourgrass in the chart object

I run the same NP report in NP 17 tasks using different Filters, and for one report I see an hourglass in the chart, when I rerun the same task with exact the same filters chart is fixed, sometimes.

What might cause this? I can't manually review each report before sending to client, there are 300+ of them.

Image is attached.

Your chart expression takes too much time to calculate. I suggest:

  1. Review chart expression and optimise it as much as possible
    1. if present - replace IF with Set Analysis
    2. Use flags in set analysis
    3. Make sure you have optimised data model
    4. If present and possible - replace calculated dimension with fields from model
  2. If all above is already done - contact Qlik support (open support ticket) as default timeout value will have to be changed I believe...

Lech,

thanks for your response, I think we will have to contact Qlik support.

out of curiosity - can you share:

  • how big is a data model (no of rows in fact table / dimension tables)
  • screenshot of your data model (table viewer)
  • dimensions and expressions used in your chart

maybe there is something we can help you with (in terms of optimisation). Also since it is NPrinting report with QlikView:

  •  do you need to use this application?
  • do you have any other objects on the sheet where this object is placed
  • are all objects minimised on this sheet?
