Hello everyone,
I've been testing the user, filter and group import in NPrinting 17 and I thought I'd share the Excel that I using to do that. I created it based on the information available in the help documentation (Importing users with filters and groups ‒ QlikView NPrinting).
Hopefully it'll save you some time if you are doing the same.
BTW everything seems to import properly except of the Locale. Also, if you want to update the filters that are assigned to a user, you have to delete the user first.
Feel free to add your own comments and improvements to the file.
Best, Karl
Both are same and valid.
What version of NP do you suggest one be on in order to get the best functionality for importing users? Thanks.
Hi guys,
I've a new problem with import task.
I use Hardik's way to import task procedure.
I create an excel file by NP17 based on three QS object tables (Filters, Users and Groups).
I'm trying to import over 2500 users to create PDF reports.
My First import went ok. Import task worked perfectly and I generated 2500 pdf.
One week later my procedure run again but this time I had a problem.
The import task went wrong because mostly of the users of the excel are already on NP.
What can I do?
I did the following as help reccomend:
There isn't any check to tell "Don't import users already present"
Any help will be appreciated
Best regards
Jp
Hello,
That will be by default that the users already present won't be imported unless there's any change (since udpate users if modified is checked, if users are modified in source, they'll get updated). Also, it will delete/remove only those users which are not available in present file compared to last import of the same task. So, it will delete only those users which were imported in the previous run of the same task.
Best,
Hardik
Hello everyone
I hope you can help me with this topic, I am trying to add users with excel files by Filters, Users and Groups. But my problem that I have in NPrinting, is that when I update a filter by country, for example when I execute the implementation of the excel file:
example:
Juan has Country = {Mexico} filtering, up there it is correct, but if I update that filter and change it to Country = {Colombia}, at the moment that the user receives his report he arrives with the two filters of "Mexico" and "Colombia", when it should only be filtered by Colombia, then I do not know what the problem is or how I can solve it.
or if the NPrinting version has any anomaly?
I am using an application in QlikSense and I am using NPrinting February 2018.
I keep an eye on your comments.
Thank you so much.
Greetings.
Hi Julio,
I don't exactly remember those options, but there are few checkboxes for updating filters under task settings. Try those checkboxes (there's one for update/replace existing filters) available in user import task settings.
Hope that helps!
Best,
Hardik
Get Outlook for iOS<https://aka.ms/o0ukef>
Try upgrading to April 2018. There is a new flag in the import task:
"Replace existing filter fields with those in the import file". It is unchecked by default. By checking this option, all existing filter fields will be removed if not present in the imported file. Otherwise they will be added in addition to existing fields.
Hey everyone,
Thanks for the provided template. Currently I'm using the NPrinting June 2020, and now has the ability to input the "User alternate email". But until now I have not found the correct column name. Has anyone experienced the same problem?
Thanks.
Regards,
Kemal
Hi,
Please open new conversations for new questions, thanks.
If you mean that you want to import the Alternate Email fields from an Excel file, it is supported and documented in https://help.qlik.com/en-US/nprinting/June2020/Content/NPrinting/DeployingQVNprinting/Import-Users-F....
Best Regards,
Ruggero
