NPrinting On Demand Excel Report Runs 3-5 Minutes

I have an NPrinting On Demand Excel report that is taking 3-5 minutes to run.  I created an excel report in NPrinting and selected the .xlsx option with On Demand. In qlikview the report generates in seconds.  Any ideas on how to make this run faster?

How much data do you have?   How many columns wide and how many rows?

When you run the report in your client and run preview or as a task, is it performing a lot faster?

I have a 30 page project that I created that takes about 1-2 minutes to run in On Demand but only take 30-45 seconds to run as a task.

How much memory do you have allocated in your Server?

Hi Mike,

It is a variable amount of rows and columns depending on the selections. In my example I have 3 objects each having 11 rows 52 columns. Big nasty report the client wants.

It only takes about a minute to run in Preview.

The server has 256GB of memory.

Two thoughts.

When you are building your Excel template are you just bringing data across from your QV objects or are you performing some sort of aggregation after the data is extracted?

I have read several other posts referring to benchmarking between On-Demand and Running a Task in the NPrinting Client.  It does seem that the On-Demand consistently takes 1-2 times or more longer to process.

Perhaps version 17 will bring some performance improvement.

I am just bringing data across from my Qlikview objects.

Hopefully we can get some performance improvements since our clients pull many variations of the reports every day.
