NPrinting OnDemand Request from QlikView Accesspoint using APIs

We having issues implementing the new OnDemand QlikView plugin, it lacks several options and features than the "old" v16 version had.

Qlik sadly marked al deprecation of functionality below as working "by design"

  • Conditional onDemand reports, users have to make specific selections before the report can be successful (any report can be started any time on any sheet)
  • Default output keeps reverting to the first sorted value in dropdown, a Excel is always default HTML
  • Trigger a task to mail a report to myself, instead of waiting for task to finally end
  • Reportnames are not dynamic, if you trigger 4 reports you cannot see what is what.

Support refers me to the API

Hi Paul,

thank you for your feedback!

I totally understand your point and the fact that those features were very helpful.

Unfortunately with the new On-Demand tool, the only way you can develop something like the old features is by making them yourself using the public NPrinting APIs.

Here are some useful links:

For what concerns trigger a task thought the OnDemand tool is also unfortunately not possible. The only way to do that is by scheduling a proper task in the main NPrinting console.

I remain at your disposal for any further information.

Best Regards,

Qlik Support

This seems to be quite the challenge because of the need of retrieving tokens and posting them back, this only looks possible using additional third-party solutions.

Has anybody already tried to create this sort of functionality using the API's ?
