We have a local dev instance of NPrinting running an older version (Feb 19) and I recently tried to upgrade, which didn’t go well; having done upgrades at client sites without issue. It ended up installing a second instance on the same box as Feb 19 – so had to screw around to get that both uninstalled/reinstalled and backup restored running Feb 19 again.
I just started to take another run at it, not taking it as far as actual installing, but it definitely wanted me to start a new repo instance so I didn't proceed. Has anyone experienced this before, and how did you proceed? Was there an older version you had to upgrade to first before going to something as recent as 2022 versions? Would you just uninstall the current version, install May 22 and then restore a backup?
Hi,
In the release notes of the new version you want to install there is the list of the supported starting version. If your starting version is in the list (February 2019 is recent enough to be there) you can install directly May 2022 IR or SR1.
A backup can be restored only on an installation of Qlik NPrinting exactly at the same version of the one that created it. A backup of February 2019 cannot be restored in May 2022 directly.
You could start by creating a backup of your installation, uninstall and reinstall the same version (or install it in the new server) and restore the backup. Then upgrade to May 2022. Maybe you had a rollback during the first attempt of upgrade and something wrong was kept in the computer.
Best Regards,
Ruggero
