Hi, is it possible to create an on-demand report for a dynamic table in Qlik Sense?
Can you specify what you mean regarding a 'dynamic' table?
You may review the following that mentioned some of the limitations of Qlik Sense Object use with NPrinting to determine if the object you are referencing is supported.
hope this helps...
Hi Frank, thanks for the answer. Dynamic table is one that has calculated conditions for showing the columns by user's choice. The user chooses from the list of dimensions to be shown in the table. According to the links you've provided, it's not possible to accomplish this request in NPrinting.
Hi @linoyel
Well - I guess you can imagine what are the implications of columns being hidden or visible in template based reporting tool like NPrinting. That basically excludes possibility of use of such solution.
But... with certain assumptions you can come up with something what is very close to what you described but has some limitations... for example:
If we assume that our report will always have the static number of column (in this case 14 columns max)
we can then build solution which will not hide and show columns, but instead will calculate a value in a column or would return 0 or '' (blank).
In NPrinting you are building a report with 14 columns as well, but you only populating ones which are selected by users....
As an alternative you can use image of the table...
Happy to chat more about my initial suggestion.... thats my 5 cents at the moment
cheers
Hi @Lech_Miszkiewicz , thanks for the answer. In your proposed solution we will still see the column names for all the columns, right? If so, then if we have a table with 50 columns and the user chooses 10 columns, then he will still get a report with 50 columns and 10 of them will have values? Do I understand you correctly?
Hi,
In the template, try to use the table tag instead of using the column tags.
Best Regards,
Ruggero
Thanks @Ruggero_Piccoli , I'll try that and update here.
Thanks for the information
