PDF in N Printing Intermittant Error

We are having issues with nprinting when trying to generate the PDF's we are seeing intermittent failures.

PaulaMc_0-1656412937158.png

we have tried checking the logs and there is nothing to suggest that there is anything blocking this.

We have tried following the instructions in the link below, however this also did not resolve the issue.

Many Thanks,

Paula

Hi,

In this case I suggest you to start by checking the QlikView Desktop license because intermittent failures often appears when using leased licenses.

Then check the normal Engine logs. If this is not enough you can set the debug level https://help.qlik.com/en-US/nprinting/May2021/Content/NPrinting/AdministeringQVNprinting/Logging.htm

Hi,

It is very had to understand what could be the cause. You are using QlikView, are you using leased licenses from the Server? If yes it could be that sometimes the QlikView run by Qlik NPrinting Engine service is not able to obtain a leased license from the Server so it will be not able to open the .QVWs needed to create the report and the task fails. A named CAL license is necessary for each Qlik NPrinting Engine.

You can also set the log to the debug level or check the task executions page to see if there are more specific error messages.

Try also to run a different task that doesn't create reports in PDF to understand if it is related to the output type.

Best Regards,

Ruggero

Thanks I will check.

Do you know what logs we check when the task fails?

@PaulaMc when it fails and you click under Admin>Task Executions and click on the Task that failed, any errors under there?
