Qlik Nprinting Designer compatibility

We are currently using April 2020 IR version of Qlik Nprinting.

We are planning to upgrade Qlik Nprinting to May 2021 SR2.

Qlik Download portal has different version of Designer for May 2021 IR and SR2.

Our team is facing some issue with the new download portal and hence could package only the May 2021 IR version.

SR2 version of Nprinting Designer is currently unavailable for us.

May I know if we will face any issues with having Nprinting Server and Engine on May 2021 SR2 and our Qlik Nprinting Designer on May 2021 IR?

Hi,

The officially supported configuration is with the Designer at exactly the same version of the Server and the Engine. Then it could be that the Designer May 2021 IR works with the Server May 2022 SR2, or any other combination, but it is not warranted and in case of issue we will ask you to move to a supported configuration as first step to solve. There is not a list of versions that can work together, it depends from changes that could happen from a version to another for example as consequence of new features or bug fixes. Nothing stops you when installing a Designer of a different version of the Server.

Best Regards,

Ruggero

@TusharDev_Qlik

I see what you mean.

@Ruggero_Piccoli

NP Designer SR 1, 2 and 3 (greyed out) are not available for download. Can you see what you can do?

Thanks in advance.

You need to select visibility as ALL RELEASES AND ALL PATCHES in order to get the installable. Problem here is the download portal link has changed and as per company policy it needs to be whitelisted first in order to use it so we could not download the SR2 version and package it to make it available for all .

Hi @TusharDev_Qlik ,

Yes the download portal was moved to the community few weeks ago for all Qlik products. When you select the version of Qlik NPrinting that you want to download you will see all related links, Designer included, and you have to keep the whole installation at exactly the same version. The older download system is no more available so you have to manage the whitelisting of the new download site with your company.
