If we use different Service accounts for Nprinting and qlikview we need to lease 1 Named CAL as per the Specification.
but incase if we are using same service account for both Nprinting & qlikview dont we need Named CAL? Please Advice.
Hi,
using same account for NP and QV is not a supported scenario. It might create problems later.
Saving the fee for one license is probably not worth it in the long run.

Hi Matus,
My Question is incase if we use same service account for both Nprinting and Qlikview do we still need to lease Named CAL just wanted to understand on this.

Poppy
The account running the QlikView services doesn't own a Named CAL by default, it just runs the services. The fact that you register a server license gives the QDS/QVB the ability to open documents for a reload but that's about it.
Even if you run the NPrinting services running the same account as the QlikView services, you will still need a Named CAL for creating NPrinting output based on QlikView data and objects.
BTW if you know the service account credentials, you can easily figure this out. Log in as the service account (on the server for example) and try to open a document in the AccessPoint.

Hi Peter,
Thanks for your response, is there any other way to check this instead of Accesspoint?
Yes.
Start QlikView Desktop, select File->Open in Server..., enter the URL of the QV Server (start with qvp://) and at the right side, select "Alternate Identity". Then enter the account name of the service account in the input field (the password will be asked for later on in a separate dialog).
If you can display & open at least one document, a CAL has been assigned to the service account.
