Hi guys,
I'm building my own security profiles and want to give access to view the task executions page.
There doesn't seem to be an option for this and only administrators can see task executions.
How do I give access to this part of NPrinting to other security profiles?
Thanks,
Chris A.
I cannot see this fix mentioned in the April 2018 release notes. I am waiting on this fix. Does anyone know if it is resolved in the latest release?
Hi,
Tasks executions page is still available only for users with Admin role.
Paul asked for information about the next release, so I spoke about April 2018 to answer him, I didn't mention that April will have the possibility to give access to the Tasks Execution page to other users. Or better, I told the opposite in my previous comment.
Best Regards,
Ruggero

Why don't you build it yourself in Qv/QS with the API, there are both the overall view with /tasks/{taskId}/executions and the detailed per task execution with /tasks/{taskId}/executions/{id}.
Sadly there aren't any API (that I am aware of) that returns which app is tied to a role, so here you need to fetch this information from the repository db.
Together with some API calls to the various users endpoints you can add users to this and also use the domain account info from the users to create a Section Access application so the users only see the tasks they are allowed to see in NP WC.
Hi smhatfield,
You mention a fix, this is not a bug. It's a feature request or expected functionality at best.
Sadly the request states back from september 2017 and there is no insight or and when functionality could be available.
blaise Yes a lot can be created using the API. We (have to) use it a lot, for instance there still are no ways to get a error mail if a task failed. (a long standing request NPrinting 17 Task Fail Alerts )
Although you can create functionality by using the API, a certain level of functionality should be delivered by the product. API should be used for extended functionality, not basic.
I totaly agree with you p.verkooijen but I believe that we have to build keep building stuff like this ourselfs with the APIs for at least a year or so until we have a better WC in NPrinting.
