Hi,
We are planning to migrate from nprinting 16 to nprinting 20. I have exported the project in np 16. Installed NP server , NP Engine , activated Licence , added NP Engine, enabled all the services , Qlikview Desktop installed, qlikview license activated.
But while importing the project in NP 20, I am facing an error of "Cache Generation Failed ". I also followed troubleshooting steps but of no use.
Please let me know step-by-step guidance.
Hi,
The error of "Cache Generation Failed" is related to connections more than migration from 16 to 20.
So:
The connection generation can fail for many reasons. For example local QlikView Desktop has not an active license for the domain user who runs the Windows Engine service or the path to the connected QVW is different than the one on the exported projet, etc.
Best Regards,
Ruggero
Using the points shared by @Ruggero_Piccoli please also share images of the errors when running the verification.
Show:
1. the verification error
2. the connection path (remember that the path may be different from your original NP 16 connection path particularly if a connection 'variable' is used (not available in NP 20)
3. any other useful information.
Please also have a look at the migration guide here. You may also be encountering unsupported items exposed by NP 20.
