Unable to import users using excel

Hi Experts,

I am unable to import users using as excel when am trying yo update the filters associated with a user (using "Update filters if modified" property in import task).

getting an error as - Importing FILTER with name 'EU'. ERROR: The filter 'EU' is invalid because the app 'Sales Demo' does not exist.

Though I don't have a filter named as EU in the list, still am getting aforementioned error.

Any help or suggestion on this would be really helpful.

Hi,

Well - if you used the example file then that exact file has that filter in it. Have you reviewed all sheets from the template as all of them are very important and need to be properly configured.

Go to "Filters" sheets and remove unwanted records or create those which you want to create/import. The same applies to "Groups" sheet in that excel. 

Note that those sheets are there for reason as they are related to columns in your user Sheet!

Hi,

You could also use Excel searching feature to find all occurrences of "EU" in your file and delete them.

The structure of the Excel file must be the one in the samples file but sheets can be empty. For example, if you do not need to create new groups keep the related worksheet empty.

My Bad , didn't realize other sheets might be causing the issue. Thank you for your quick response.

Also, when am adding filter names in the User spreadsheet the filters are not getting assign to a user. May I know if there is a specific option (s) which needs to be selected while importing details from spreadsheet?

Hi,

If a filter already exists you must use its exact name. The same if you create it in the Filters worksheet.

Then you have to check the options:

• Create filters if not present
• Update filters if modified
• Remove filters not present in newest import sources
• Replace existing filter fields

Note that Import task can be run in Test Mode and after you can download a text file with related erros.
