I should say that I am using v17.
I created a report yesterday based on a qvw. Today I added a few more charts and want to add them to my existing report.
When I go into Edit Template I don't see the new charts. I right clicked on tables figuring I would see them and could add them but they are not there.
So how do I update an existing report with new charts from the qvw that it is connected to?
If you don't see the new charts after the meta data reload, then you will need to restart the NPrinting services (Engine and NP server)
Mark -
Edit the connection in NP17 for the qvw that you added the charts to.
Click Reload Metadata.
The new charts will be available next time you edit the template.
If you don't see the new charts after the meta data reload, then you will need to restart the NPrinting services (Engine and NP server)
That worked. Is there something that I need to do in our setup so that updating the MetaData will work and you don't have to stop and start the services each time?
Did you try doing it without stopping the services from inside the Connections area of the web client?
I tried it several times through the management console and it didn't work.
I've done some checking and found that there is a bug which results in the need to restart the services when meta data is reloaded.
This will be resolved in a future version of NP 17.
No date has yet been assigned to resolving this issue.
I don't see a need to restart Nprinting services but rather open the Sources section in Nprinting and open the connection which refers to the qvw you updated and do a Refresh Object List then you should view the new chart in the Tables section in the Reports.
Hi Izabele,
Mark is using NPrinting 17 which is quite different from versions 16.x and earlier. Take a look at this: Connecting to a QlikView document ‒ QlikView NPrinting
Best,
Daniel.
