Hello,
We have a language difference for error messages when there is no data, the message is different between the QlikView application and the report generated by Nprinting.
The application was loaded correctly, as was the metadata, but there is a language difference.
we have test :
- Modification of the expression: in Qlikview it's in French, but in Nprinting it's in English.
- Modification of calculation conditions: in this case, the correct language is taken into account.
However, in this case we have to create a new expression for each case.
can you help me
here are the screenshots
In qlikview :
In nprinting :
Thanks in advance
Hi @Diane
Strange one indeed. My guess are locale of NPrinting server. What are NPrinting server regional settings and default language and what are the settings on QlikView user who runs NPrinting engine/used in connection.
You may need to logon to NPrinting server as engine service account, open QlikView and check below setting too:
In the NPrinting console what locale is set?
Hi @Diane
Have you got any update on this? Were you successful with the steps we have provided?.
Thanks
Hi,
Thank you for your answers.
We tested the different elements:
The qlikview has the language in French.
The Nprinting console is in French.
The user used to launch reports is in French.
The server language is French.
But we still have the message in English
that seems a bit buggy...since that version is no longer supported is it possible to upgrade to Feb 24 and see if issue persists?
Hi,
we can't upgrade the version.
We had do new tests.
We checked the qlikview setting file on the nprinting server. And the language is set to French before we run our nprinting and as soon as we run nprinting the language changes to English.
Do you know why nprinting would change the language of the Qlikview application?
The user is in French on nprinting.
InterfaceLanguage is in french before running nprinting and it switches to english by itself.
However, our Qlikview servers are in English. Could this have an impact?
Thanks in advance
This point is not clear for me: You said:
The qlikview has the language in French.
Have you actually RDP to NPrinting server as "NPrinting engine service account" user and have you opened QlikView using that user and set the language for that user to French?
I know you have said that server is in English and that locale setting for user running report (whatever that is) are in French, but that is different than setting on NPrinting server of QlikView Desktop user settings for service account user on that server.
thanks
Lech
Hi @Diane ,
I will also ask to clarify what do you mean by (I am not sure if we talk the same things when we describe it):
I am not sure if we are talking about the same things so It would be good if you could provide examples of screenshots for each of those.
thanks
Hello,
I have connected to the Nprinting server with "NPrinting engine service account" user.
The language of the Nprinting server is French.
In the Nprinting console, the Nprinting user is in French.
However, the Qlikview desktop installed on the Nprinting server has its language reset to English as soon as we generate an Nprinting report. We changed the language via the Qlikview desktop's user preferences menu and also via the settings file. It takes into account the change of language to French, but as soon as we generate a Nprinting report it switches back to English.
On the other hand, the Qlikview server is in English (I don't know if this is important).
