Where to locate config files in Qlik Replicate Folder

Hi team,

My Qlik Replicate Console isn't working in RDP(Remote Desktop Connection). There is no response when I double click the icon, trying to trace the error by checking the log file content.

Can someone please help me with locating the config file.

Purpose : Log files not being generated hence to verify/edit the config file to specify the respective log file path.

In addition if you know how to rectify the log file generation in other ways you can suggest that as well.

Thanks,

Vandhana

Hello Vandhana @Vandy ,

Thanks for opening the article.

If I understood correctly, you are connecting to remote Replicate Server by RDP, and in the remote server window (where Replicate is installed), you got "no response" from GUI, while you are try to trace the GUI issue, you find no log file generated , is that correct?

We'd like to suggest you confirm if the 2 services are running, by using task manager, sample screen:

Try to restart the services to see if they are helpful. BTW, you can find the data folder (after the "-d" parameter in the above service definition) where Replicate puts its server log files and task log files in this folder. The default log path is "C:\Program Files\Attunity\Replicate\data\logs".

Hope this helps.

Regards,

John.

Hello @john_wang ,

Yes, the services are running. I will attach the screenshot for the same.

I already have tried restarting the services. It doesn't seem to work in anyway.

Also I wanted to locate the config file and not the log file.

Thanks

Hello @Vandy ,

Thanks for the update.

There are 2 services , their name are (in some version):

Attunity Replicate Server & Qlik Replicate UI Server

in higher Replicate versions, both of them are named with prefix "Qlik Replicate ...". I noticed you have only one service name prefix is "Qlik Replicate". Please try to restart another one as well.

Regarding config file, Replicate uses SQLite database as repository, it's in binary format. I'm not sure which configuration parameter you want to check?

Regards,

John.

Hello @john_wang ,

I have restarted both the services.

I want the config file where the log file path is mentioned for the log files to be generated in that specific path.

I just want to verify the path and if required change the log file path to a desired location just so that I can see the log files generating currently. Because I can only see log files that have been generated months ago back in March.

There are no new log files being generated in this folder "C:\Program Files\Attunity\Replicate\data\logs".

Not sure what is the reason.

Reasons may include : Logging configuration, Log File Path, Log File Rotations, Insufficient Logging Levels, or Software and System issues. Just not sure what is the root cause of log files not being generated and how to fix it.

Thanks

Hello @john_wang ,

Coming to restarting services I am not able to restart one service i.e., Attunity Replicate Server. It throws an Error : 1053.

I will attach the required screenshot for reference.

Thanks

Hello @Vandy ,

Thanks for the update.

This is a common error in Windows platform, Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion, however looks to me the problem cannot be solved in your site by increasing ServicesPipeTimeout it sounds like a different issue.

From the picture, the service "Log On As" is a different account than other services. would you confirm if this is correct setting? BTW, any clue can be found from Windows Event Viewer after the service failed startup.

Regards,

John.

Hello @john_wang ,

Should I try increasing the  ServicesPipeTimeout to a certain value? If yes, How do I go about it?

Log On As is the same user/account for all Qlik services running. (./vandhanac)

Is there any other change you are expecting with this regard?

Regards,

Vandhana
